Description

Located in the heart of the French Jura, this exceptional castle is only 1 hour away from Geneva by road and 9 minutes by air.

Built on a 132-hectare estate, this 13th-century building was previously a real fortress with its keep, towers and drawbridges to cross the moat that surrounded it. At the end of the 19th century, it was bought by a wealthy industrialist from Lyon who restored it in the Renaissance style, earning it the title of the best restoration in France.
In 2002, the castle was bought by its current owner, who completed the restoration in 2007 according to historical, artistic, scientific and technical criteria, thus making it a listed French historical monument. Once you

pass through the entrance gate, a driveway lined with century-old trees will lead you to the castle grounds, the former 16th-century Barony. The authenticity of the site has been carefully preserved throughout the renovations that have made it a very comfortable residence. It has a living area of 4,000 m2, with 70 rooms spread over 3 floors, including 24 bedrooms and 27 bathrooms.

The royal stables are a gem for horse lovers, with 8 large boxes, a riding school and an outdoor sand-dressage area measuring 20x60m.

Behind the castle, several outbuildings have also been restored:
• The caretaker’s house
• The service building is dedicated to the accommodation of service staff. It has several apartments, a dormitory and a dining room. Several workshops such as the forge, bakery and carpentry are an integral part of the building.
• The gardener’s house
• The barn (the only building that has not been restored)
  • Stone alleys and cobbled courtyards.

An enclosing wall surrounds the property on 80 hectares. The numerous gravel or cobbled paths serve the different parks leading to the sublime French-style garden structured on 20 hectares, between forests, mountains and vineyards. Water is very present on the entire surface of the property thanks to an English river, stone canals, waterfalls and a pond.

This castle is a marvel for lovers of history and old stones. It is listed as a Monument of France.
